Whoa...I am not good at this.

Since the last time I posted, a great deal has happened. Happened is too passive a word, but it will have to do.
  • We bought and moved in to our new house.
  • I have subsequently started remodeling the over 100 year-old home. It will be so beautiful when I am finished (a.k.a. broke).
  • I became pregnant. Ia m now almost 16 weeks. fear not. this will not become a pregnancy blog (that is reserved for other, more boring places).
  • I have already started going to the obstetrician and had my first ultrasound at 13 1/2 weeks (see photo). I do enjoy displaying my vagina to random men and allowing them to insert random things inside of me. I actually pay them to do it.
  • I am going to be teaching this fall. All has been arranged and I have completed my training course. Am I ready? Absolutely not.

Me: Part II

More facts about me:
  • I wrecked my first car, a 1974 Buick Apollo, into a building. I never got to buy those cow print sheets.
  • I got a speeding ticket in Tennessee because I was going 75mph in a 40mph zone.
  • I've got most people fooled (unless they are fooling me).
  • I love lists.
  • I am a terrible friend. The kind who quickly ditches her old friends when she gets new ones.
  • I like Demetri Martin, but not Dane Cook.
  • Monty Python can always make me laugh
  • I wish slumber parties didn't become creepy at a certain age.
  • I hate barbecue sauce. Seriously.

I am kinda neurotic

Soooo...
even though we aren't moving for 6 weeks I already have over half of our things packed. Because of my need to be prepared, I have stowed away all of my large bowls, most of the tupperware, all holiday decorations and most of the photographs that used to be on my wall. I have also created a gigantic stack of boxes that are full of things for my yard sale. Since I am now forced to stare at all of the things I used to love, but what has now become jun, I realize that I am the worst packrat.

I have every pay stub from every job I have ever had. I started working when I was 14. I have broken belts, old envelopes and more books than I know what to do with. And I must say, I love it!

Honestly, it has been fun going down memory lane via my old junk. But now it's time to put the crap to rest. Yes, my friends, I am ready to have a yard sale. I am ready to start fresh.

Sweet Relief

I just submitted my English portfolio which counts as 100% of my grade. It might be sub-par, but hey, it's complete!
My semester is almost over!
Oh, I do love a good exclamation point!

I am also enjoying tasty Diet Mt.Dew. Although it is in an embarrassingly large, 44oz jug from a gas station, I do have to give it credit for the mental boost that helped to get me through the morning.

Thank you.

I should probably be doing something else

Here is what is going on in my life right now (as in today, even).

1. I am buying a house. The offer was accepted. Now I can't back out and I am so incredibly nervous. I think I have commitment issues.

2. My portfolio for and English course is due tomorrow and I still have 3 assignments and a project to do. Yes, it is even more work than what it sounds like...so I am kinda screwed.

3. I ripped my favorite pajama pants. Okay, they weren't my favorite, but they were definitely in the top 5 and now they have a gaping hole in the crotch because of my ginormous legs.

4. My skin is f%cked up. All of this stress has a created a bloated, blotchy version of my former self, that well...she's not that cute. Hmm...
